Occupational therapy is an incredibly broad and diverse field that continues to grow and meet the changing needs of our communities. As an occupational therapist, I see every day just how functional and essential this profession is. We have the unique opportunity to support people across the lifespan from tiny babies in the NICU, to children navigating school challenges, to adults recovering from injury or illness, and older adults striving to maintain their independence.

What I love about OT is its focus on real-life skills and meaningful daily activities. Whether we’re helping a child participate more fully in the classroom, supporting someone after surgery as they relearn how to manage their home, or guiding an older adult in adapting routines so they can stay safe, the work is always practical, personal, and needed. The changes may seem small—like being able to button a shirt or prepare a meal—but they truly make a world of difference for our clients and their families.

This month, I’m especially proud not only to be an OT, but to have created this platform as a space for fellow OTs, parents, and school-based therapists. It’s important to me to have a place where we can share ideas, support each other, and connect as a community of clinicians who care deeply about helping others.

Thank you to all my fellow OTPs for your hard work, creativity, and dedication. Let’s continue to lift each other up and celebrate the meaningful impact we have every day.
